Trident  Cash   &     Carry     is    a    general    wholesale   operation based   in  Botswana.  Trident  commenced  operations in  November 1993 with  a  floor  area   of   1,000   sqms    and    a staff  complement  of  40.  Today   Trident  operates  from  a  building with a floor area in excess of 3000 sqms and a staff of 85.     

Trident   Cash & Carry   is   part   of  a group of Cash & Carry   outlets  with 5 branches located in various   parts of   Botswana    (Trident in Maun, Eureka in Phikwe, Eureka in Gaborone and Eureka in Mahalapye).

The group has now ventured out of Botswana into the vast South African market with the acquiring of the  Spar Supermarket franchise is one of the largest Supermarket Chains in the world with over 700 branches in South Africa alone.

Trident Cash & Carry has expanded its wholesale business in to South Africa with the  accquiring of ISMAIL WHOLESALERS . Ismail Wholesalers is located in POTGIETERSRUS which is in the northern part of South Africa and has been a family owned business for over 25 years.

Trident Cash & Carry Potgietersrus is a member of the SHEILD BUYING GROUP and SHEILD is one of the larger buying group in South Africa.

The   Groups  headquarters  are based in Francistown the Northern part of Botswana.   Each  store   has  an  average  floor area of 1100 sqms and the wholesale  has over 350 employees.

In   addition   to   most   of   the  major  branded  food confectionery  and  cosmetic products the group deals   in   Toiletries, Glassware,   Enamelware,  Plasticware, Domestic Hardware, Household appliances,  Electronics, Frozen products. & Pharmaceuticals.

 The group is also a distributor for the 3 major tobacco manufacturers in South Africa.

Eureka Gaborone, Eureka Mahalapye and Trident Cash & Carry Francistown also trade in meat, fruit and fresh Vegetables. The fresh produce is sourced mainly from South Africa.  

A product   range   which includes cosmetics and candles  are  manufactured   by  various   independent manufacturers in Southern Africa  exclusively  for  the  Trident / Eureka group of  wholesalers under the brand name EUREKA.

The group's Cash & carry customers are principally licensed independent Retailers, Chain Stores, Hawkers, Schools ReWholesalers Petrol Station forecourts etc,    

The  group  is   associated  with  the BUYING EXCHANGE COMPANY  one  of the largest independent buying organizations in South Africa.

  Kimz Carriers the transport arm of the group has its own fleet of trucks and trailers used exclusively by the group.

Having identified a location in the town of Palapye  in Botswana, a large warehouse is being built at present with the intention of  commencing a wholesale operation in December 2000.

The   Issadeen   brothers,   Kabeer  and  Malik,   hold controlling  interest  in   all the companies. Kabeer takes responsibilities   for    the group's   financial  and administrative  operations while  Malik  is  responsible   for group's operational functions.  

Botswana

Francistown is in the Northern part  of   Botswana and is 440  Km   from    Gaborone  the  capital  of  Botswana. Botswana is a landlocked  country  with a population of 1.4M and borders, South Africa,  Namibia, Zimbabwe  and   Zambia.  Its  main source of revenue is Diamonds, which is the main reason for its   very   strong economic  stability.
